Hi, The database component of IM Datacenter (which I did/do realize was folded into IM) was not running. By "Datacenter was gone" I meant there was no longer a way in the IM control center to control it. It was/is configured to use our LDAP server for external auth, so nobody could authenticate using IM remote.
I called tech support, who had me try going to the management URL on the IM server (http://<server address>:8182 or something). It didn't respond. He then suggested I e-mail [email protected] for the fastest resolution. IM itself was running, but for whatever reason the db was not. Saving the "IM Settings" directory & uninstalling/reinstalling was one more quick/easy thing for me to try before e-mailing support. It worked, so I never e-mailed support. Yes, since there is no longer a DataCenter entry in the control center app, there is no obvious way to try to control it. Again though, I appreciate your dev teams work in keeping everything in the "IM Settings" folder, which makes doing this sort of thing, or more drastic things like moving IM to a different server, pretty painless...
