That's exactly the reason I'm against creating 5_3 branch at this moment -
I'm afraid that you (and everybody else) will start patching it and 5_2 will
become 4_4 as it is now - security fixes only.. once in a month.. maybe.. or maybe not.
You would be busy with 5_3, even though there is enough work in 5_2 branch.
