Hello Jinguk,

We have tried to make clean cross-platform choices in the windows-port branch,
but most of our changes currently impact the ?discovery and connectivity?
(resource/) project. I wasn?t aware that a new ?platform extension? project
was being planned.

Which group will be deciding the project structure? Is the F2F meeting
happening next week?

Regards,
David Antler

Dear Ferguson and Antler,

Sorry for late response.

Actually, we are planning to have a F2F meeting for deciding project structure.

I have a question.

Is there any candidate for maintainer of this project when platform extension
project will be created?

Maybe, he will cover not only windows port but also platform abstract layer.

Title : RE: [dev] Review request: merge windows-port to master

Dear esteemed colleagues,

The Windows OS platform is officially planned for the 1.2.0 Iotivity release.

Please See IOT-1118:
https://wiki.iotivity.org/iotivity_1.2.0_release_plan

However, our branch is not merged because we are waiting for someone to say
?you are allowed to proceed?
Who is going to give us permission? Or, is the expectation that we simply ?just
do it? ?

We want to merge:

Thank you very much,
~Daniel Ferguson

Hello Jinguk,

Has progress been made on the project policy discussion? I am updating the
aforementioned change to remain free of merge conflicts.

Best regards,
David Antler

Dear Antler,

ISG members are discussing about project policy, now.

Currently, it is not determined who will be a maintainer, which project
structure will be the best for supporting several platforms, ...

Plz wait some more time before merging to master.

Title : [dev] Review request: merge windows-port to master

We are requesting expedited review of a merger from ?windows-port? into master,
#8441.

The windows-port branch enables compilation with Visual Studio including
automatic unit tests. We would like to integrate these changes into master so
that Jenkins can be used to ensure any additional changes are built with
Windows and Visual Studio compatibility in mind.

Thanks,
David Antler
