This doesn't solve your problem (sorry) but if you find you have to
fall back to the iPhone keyboard you can actually determine which
keyboard pops up. Check out how to do it: http://bit.ly/bGVJ4L

<input type="number" /> is also supported which shows the default
numeric keypad.
