and
that is what they are as nobody is able to claim they "own" those
prefixes.
Would be interesting to see how much IPv6 traffic hits the DNS roots
from link-local or ULA sources. Anyone have any info?

I do not have access myself (if not I would give it a try), but I
think there are some people in this list from the roots or the RIRs that
could be able to get the data and perhaps a short report about it.
