I concur. Back 5-8 years ago, we had a few percent of our household customers use the same MAC address, namely the one D-link assigned by default to their NAT boxes and then added an option to "clone" an inside PC address if one wanted to change the WAN facing address.

MAC addresses being non-unique is happening a lot more commonly than it should, and needs to be taken in account.
