hier mal meine bisherigen Ergebnisse zum CfP. Termine und Ort sind
noch nicht fest, genausowenig meine Mail-Adresse für die Proposals.
Für Kommentare bin ich wie immer dankbar, schon alleine deshalb, weil
ich langsam etwas betriebsblind werde.
Eine neue Info habe ich noch, was die Reisekosten angeht: Die GUUG
trägt normalerweise die Unterbringungs- und Teilnahmekosten
einschließlich Social Event, aber nicht die Fahrtkosten. Ausnahmen
bestätigen allerdings die Regel, normalerweise dadurch, dass wir
versuchen, einen Sponsor aufzutun.
Als nächstes müssten wir jetzt einige Freiwillige für das Programm-
komitee finden. In Sachen Unix bin ich soweit ganz fit, aber
mindestens für die Gebiete
- Cisco, Juniper et al. und die damit verbundenen Problemgebiete
- Windows
- aktuelle Trends in der Standardisierung
- Sicherheit (außer aus der Unix-Perspektive)
- Massen-Deployments in real existierenden Umgebungen
- Skalierbarkeit in großen Umgebungen
könnte ich dringend Unterstützung gebrauchen.
Noch ein Hinweis: Nächste Woche findet das Frühjahrsfachgespräch der
GUUG in Berlin statt. Deshalb bin ich erstens in der Woche nicht
erreichbar und komme zweitens anschließend hoffentlich mit einigen
neuen Informationen zum Stand der Organisation zurück.
Außerdem haben Matthias Waehlisch und ich mal ganz locker vereinbart,
uns am 15.03. gegen Mittag auf der CeBIT zu treffen, um vielleicht das
eine oder andere direkt abklären zu können. Wer sonst noch mitmachen
will und vielleicht eh vor Ort ist, ist natürlich herzlichst
eingeladen, dazuzukommen.

1st European Conference on Applied IPv6

Holiday Inn Hotel, Cologne
The European Conference on Applied IPv6 is a technical conference for
IT professionals interested in the new Internet Protocol, Version 6
(IPv6).
It focuses on the real-world aspects of IPv6 use, its deployment and
operations, its use in new projects as well as upcoming trends and
developments.
You are involved with IPv6 on a hands-on basis? Then share your
experiences, good and bad, with those who are following in your wake.
Topics
------
We look for speakers who are willing to talk about
- their experiences, problems and solutions,
- their current best practices,
- new projects,
- security concerns.
- new operations-related specifications
and similar IPv6-related topics.
Talk Submissions
----------------
Presentations should take about 45 minutes including discussions.
Please send abstracts (ASCII text, no more than 2000 words) and a
short speakers biography to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. All
abstracts will be reviewed by the program committee.
For the conference proceedings we expect you to submit a paper of
approximately 2--10 pages (A4 format, 1" borders, no page
headers/footers).
Tutorials
---------
If you want to hold a more in-depth tutorial rather than a regular
talk, we can allocate time slots for tutorials of either 90 or 180
minutes.

Travel Expenses
---------------
As a speaker we will cover your accomodation and participation costs
at the conference, including the social event. Beyond that, travel
expenses are generally not covered by us; if this poses a problem to
you, please contact us so we can try to organize additional
sponsorship.
BoF Sessions
------------
Additionally, BoF (birds-of-a-feather) sessions will be held. If you
already intend to propose a BoF topic, please let us know so we can
announce it in advance.
Exhibition Booths and Sponsoring
