----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Irish Fencing Forum
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Awesome_Marcos1 Message 5 in Discussion I have confirmed with Nuala that 350N kit is fine for the Irish Open on the question of breeches / plastrons these have to be worn - competition fencing is faster than when you are at training and the possibility, however slight, of blades breaking and therefore being a danger is increased. for the open last year the IAFF bought a number of plastrons which were then sold at a small discount on the day. Eoin, if you think that a lack of breeches is holding back people from attending competition, let me know and maybe the federation can look into what can be done A subsidy to clubs to buy breeches is unlikely as kit goes missing - but any suggestions I'll bring-up One idea might be to give individual fencers a small subsidy - the salle ran a scheme where if you bought a begginers pack of (I think) foil, glove, plastron and jacket you got E100 cash back from the club. Another might be to have a number of breeches at the comp to sell at the irish open. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/IrishFencingForum/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
