----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Irish Fencing Forum
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Eoin Message 15 in Discussion The universities will continue to supply gear to their members but we have to constantly replace and repair gear which puts a large strain on our finances. As you said, we need the money for other priorities We will buy breeches when we can afford them and have done so in the past. However it would take us several years before we had nearly enough breeches to give to our members in order to satisfy the federation. As for buying gear, alot of fencers will only fence whilst they are in college so the prospect of them spending 60+ on gear will not be too appealing. I would suggest that a grant of approx 1000 to each club (it can vary on membership numbers and the type of club) would be sufficient to allow us to buy enough breeches. Would the federation be able to do this? We are talking maybe 5000 - 6000 at most. If this is not possible and no other solution is forthcoming then you won't be able to enforce the wearing of breeches at the Irish Open (unless you want to turn away most fencers) ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/IrishFencingForum/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
