----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Irish Fencing Forum
----------------------------------------------------------- From: SinJim1 Message 60 in Discussion (I am the entity formerly known as dextersin). But if he was wearing proper 800N gear, he probably wouldn't get skewered, now would he? And in answer to your question, I can defend it very easily - you are not responsible for your opponent's health and safety on the piste, and are therefore not morally culpable if you 'skewer' them, so long as you did not set out to cause them injury. FYI (as you so elegantly put it) fencing is a combat sport, and all practitioners must accept the risk of serious injury and death every time they fence, be they wet-nosed beginners or elite fencers. Hope you actually think before you write your next retort. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/IrishFencingForum/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
