Dear Naeem ,

I think you are coming back on 20 th July . Lets meet PTCL and other authorities in the I.T division . We should take up this issue as soon as possible .

I will request Bhutta Sb to arrange a meeting with PTCL  soon but we should get prepared very well
before this meeting .

An early action in this regard will save this Prestigious project from becoming another nightmare of typical  PTCL attitude and behavior .

Best Regards

Saad Saleem

Subject: RE: ISPAK: SMW3 to EMIX

Hello All ,

This is the height of Mis-information provided by PTCL . According to discussions , Singtel was not to provide any IP connectivity , Qwest was selected ( this was also stated in the press releases ). Addtionally , the STM-1 was to terminate in NYC , not on the west coast . In the meeting with PTCL , they had stated that a roudtrip delay of 200 ms whereas this is nearly 400ms !! I really dont know whats going on ... is this the way the STM-1 bandwidth is going to be routed , or will it be routed differently ?

Can someone please explain to us, as I am quite confused .

Yes it is singtel, I guess Qwest is going through Singtel Internet Exchange. I talked to D.E. at ITI and was told that they are switching us over to STM1.

Subject: ISPAK: SMW3 to EMIX

Dear All,

Just a little while ago at 3:45 PM SMW3 to EMIX went down and possible restoration time of 36 to 48 hours was quoted, the time was later changed to July 30th. Luckily STM1 was available and ISP's etc. were shifted on this circuit to avoid the extended downtime.

This type of situation is very serious and we should persuade MOST and PTCL to provide a Satellite backup to STM1 together with a fully restorable guarantee STM1 circuit. This should be done right away to avoid loss of business to Internet users and to avoid Pakistan being a news item worldwide in case of extended downtime.

Regards,
