Michael Magill commented on GUACAMOLE-288:
------------------------------------------
Here are some thoughts I had about how this could be implemented:
1) Create a browser plugin that integrates with guacamole. I am not a
particular fan of the idea, but just throwing it out there as an option that
would probably allow for obtaining monitor configuration info to freeRDP and
maybe even easily go full screen across multiple monitors
2) The idea that I think has more promise would be to have a button in the main
guacamole interface labeled something like "add virtual monitor" that opens a
new browser window. That window wouldn't show much guacamole UI, mainly just
"virtual monitor #x" and some basic instructions like "You can move this window
to another monitor and press F11 to go full screen". It would be up to the
user to move the virtual monitor windows to their actual monitor and size them
appropriately, maybe even one on each monitor in kiosk (F11) mode. Then when
they (re)connect to an RDP session, guacamole could pass each virtual monitor
window to FreeRDP as another monitor.
While idea 2 is neither trivial nor a particularly seamless experience, it
means you don't have to rely on finding a new API to report what monitors are
available, then automatically spawning and placing windows. I expect dragging
between monitors would require dragging until the cursor hits the edge of one
monitor, then releasing and grabbing it on the other. Not a big problem with
monitors to the left or right, but could be difficult for monitors above and
below.
> Add support for multi-monitor connections

> Hello,
> I'm wondering if multi monitor support for RDP (and maybe even VNC?) is on
> Guacamole's roadmap? Currently, when we RDP to a workstation with multiple
> displays, we only see the primary display. Can't find any options in the
> connection settings to configure multiple monitors.
> I've found a ticket on the old Jira where a developer suggested it may be a
> trivial fix that involves adding a few flags and then the ticket went quite
> in 2015...so just wondering if this feature is in fact being added and if
> there is any ETA for it?
> Thank you
