reiterating what stack says... the performance improvement in the profiler is
stark, which leads me to believe we will have to switch to this, meaning
getting rid of DeleteFamily and converting them to delete columns in the
server-side.
Expensive to be sure, but perf boost on get is just too good to pass up.
