Great ideas.  Adding some visual indicators of where TimelineAnnotation objects 
were on the line would be very nice.  A popup would be good as well.  I think 
it could be done by adding a time delayed callback to the mouseMove handler for 
SpanWidget... if the mouse stays for a while in the same spot, we pop up the 
span details info based on that.  Of course, we'd have to cancel this callback 
if the mouse moved during the timeout period.
