How about changing this error/help message to something like
{quote}[ERROR] After correcting the problems, you can resume the build *by
adding*
[ERROR] -rf :example
[ERROR] to your command.

with no reference to {{mvn}} itself. It would also cover the case of using
{{mvnw}}.
