This issue was originally filed in 2012 against plugin version 2.6. At that
time, the plugin (via an older version of maven-filtering) used QDox to scan
Java source files and extract Javadoc metadata, enabling `${...}` filtering
expressions derived from Javadoc comments. Each scanned class produced one
`[INFO] Extracting Javadoc metadata for ...` line.
That Javadoc/QDox source-scanning feature has long since been removed. The
string `"Extracting Javadoc metadata"` does not exist anywhere in the current
codebase — neither in maven-resources-plugin (any version from 3.x through the
current 4.0.0-beta-2-SNAPSHOT) nor in maven-filtering. Users on modern versions
will not see this output.
Closing as fixed by the removal of the QDox-based Javadoc metadata
extraction feature.
