Ideally, prefix fetch should happen once per session for each met remote repository. If a snapshot repository is introduced (by client code, ie a plugin) to resolve release repository, this is not known by prefix fetching component, as all it sees "new remote repository got introduced into context", and not "what is the artifact to resolve from it". Of course, there are room for improvements, but for example if POM defines a snapshot repository, but itself never references SNAPSHOTs (ie as dependencies), resolve is not able to "predict this".... -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
