Review Comment:
   ❌ **Compile error: `Object.isEmpty()` does not exist.**

   `node.value()` returns `String`, but it is assigned to an `Object` variable.
`Object` has no `isEmpty()` method — this will not compile. Change the variable
type to `String`:

   ```suggestion
           String value = node.value();
           if (value == null || value.isEmpty()) {
   ```

Review Comment:
   ⚠️ **Silent wrong value when `evaluate()` returns `null`.**

   `String.valueOf(null)` produces the literal string `"null"`, and
`.charAt(0)` returns `'n'` — no exception, just a silently incorrect char value
for any mojo `char` parameter whose expression doesn't resolve.

   ```suggestion
           if (type == char.class || type == Character.class) {
               Object evaluated = evaluate(node.value(), type);
               if (evaluated == null) return null;
               return String.valueOf(evaluated).charAt(0);
           }
   ```

   The same `String.valueOf(evaluate(...))` pattern on lines 95–126 (boolean,
int, long, double, float, short, byte, enum) also misbehaves:
`Boolean.valueOf("null")` → `false`, `Integer.valueOf("null")` →
`NumberFormatException`. Add a null-guard in each numeric branch, or extract a
`evaluateAsString()` helper that returns `null` when the expression is
unresolved.

Review Comment:
   📋 **No unit tests for `V4MojoConfigurator`.**

   The PR deletes four test files (1,086 lines covering path translation,
sealed types, records, collections, maps, nested beans) and adds **zero**
replacement tests. The two retained tests that now call `configure()` only
exercise expression evaluation of session properties — none of the 15+
type-conversion paths (char, numeric primitives, arrays, Maps, Properties,
records, sealed classes, implementation hints, nested beans).

   Add a `V4MojoConfiguratorTest` covering at minimum: scalar types with null
expressions, `default-value` attribute, char/numeric null-guard,
Collection/Map/Properties, records, sealed types with implementation hints,
nested beans, and Path/File alignment.

Review Comment:
   ⚠️ **`default-value` attribute is only evaluated for bean-type parameters,
not for scalars.**

   The `node.attribute("default-value")` fallback at lines 176–179 is only
reachable after all the scalar branches return early (`String`, `int`, `char`,
`Path`, etc. all return before line 176). Any mojo parameter with a
`default-value` XML attribute will get `null` for scalar types instead of the
declared default.

   The old `EnhancedConfigurationConverter` evaluated `default-value` for all
types via the `PlexusConfiguration` API. Either move the `default-value` check
to the top of `convert()` (before the type dispatch), or add a per-branch
fallback when `evaluate()` returns `null`.
