Thanks, those tests were very useful. I pulled all four into this PR. The root cause turned out to be that cached mojos never recorded their lifecycle phases. Recording them replaced my earlier `setFile()` approach, which also fixed the `restoreOnDiskArtifacts` regression, and covers test-jar and forked lifecycles. Stale downstream classes are fixed by having `stagePreExistingArtifacts` also stage `target/classes`. I added one more IT where only downstream changes.
