slachiewicz opened a new pull request, #1351: URL: https://github.com/apache/maven-site-plugin/pull/1351
For an `http(s):` or `file:` site URL, the top-level site lookup treats any parent on the same scheme, host and port as part of the same site, so a project whose unrelated parent (a company or base POM) publishes to the same server was staged and deployed relative to that parent: `Mapped url: .../deploy/ to relative path: ../deploy`, and the site landed next to `target/staging` instead of in it. A parent that sets `child.site.url.inherit.append.path="false"` now stops being the top site of a child whose site URL is not equal to or below its own. Children that inherit the parent's URL, or declare one below it, still group with the parent, and without the flag the looser same-server rule is unchanged. #1297 tightened this only for `scm:` URLs. `topSiteURL` keeps working as the explicit override. Fixes #1079 Verified: `mvn -Prun-its verify -Dinvoker.test='site-sd*,site-inheritance'` → 10 passed; the new `site-sd-parent-no-append-path` IT fails on master (staged to `target/deploy`). -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
