I agree with you, that a more intuitive way would be good. I can think of
(1) add an option in the wizard to generate the chart on a specified sheet or
on a new one. Excel offers such choice.
(2) add an option "move" in the UI, which moves the chart to another sheet
while keeping the data ranges.

Perhaps you write an new issue as enhancement request?

I do not think, that it is a duplicate to 121231. Because that one is about
binding and unbinding a chart to an external data range. This issue is about
easily choose the position of a chart inside a spreadsheet document.
