The Hbase 1.6 pom.xml specifies 2.8.5 as hadoop-two.version. I could not find
official documentation regarding 1.6, and the supported Hadoop version. (Maybe
I just didn't look hard enough)
I would guess that HBase 1.6 doesn't work with Hadoop 2.7, as it (at least the
minicluster) seems to refer to methods that were added/moved in 2.8.
I can run a test with 2.7.7 tomorrow, but I'd be surprised if it worked.
