Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-15600:

:)

We should also have a better way to manage the logos. Users who want to be
included shuold be able to submit their logo somewhere, and confirm that they
represent the firm. Also, logos should expire after 3 years with an email to
the contact person who can then confirm whether they still want to be listed.
We'd get a ton of logos, so the site would likely need to randomize / rotate
somehow. Suggestions?

What is the best target location for the logos? Perhaps
[https://solr.apache.org/community.html#powered-by] ?

> Move Powered By logos to separate page

> See email from ASF. Solr is in violation of a policy:
> {quote}IMPORTANT: PMCs who list "powered by" companies on their Project sites
> (organizations that are using your project --in their products/solutions or
> otherwise) MUST NOT BE DOING SO ON THE PROJECT HOME PAGE.{quote}
> The reason Solr has not been "detected" until now is that solr was a sub page
> of lucene.apache.org but now the page with the illegal logos is on the HOME
> PAGE of solr.apache.org :)
>
> It should be easy to just put the "powered by" section on a sub page instead
> of on the HOME page of our site.
>
> This should be done within September 2021.
