Daniel Shahaf commented on SVN-4886:
------------------------------------
What happens if the user config specifies compatible-version=1.16 and the
client is version 1.15? Would we treat it the same way we would treat {{svn co
--compatible-version=1.16}}, i.e., warn (currently) or error (just proposed in
https://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/subversion-dev/202202.mbox/%3C20220225201659.GA3484%40tarpaulin.shahaf.local2%3E)?
Apologies if this has already been discussed on dev@ and I missed it.

> Let the default "compatible version" be specified in the user config. (That
> is, the default version for 'checkout' and 'upgrade', which are the places
> where a version can be specified.)
> This configured version should be overridden by any '--compatible-version'
> command-line option.
