[~rajesh.balamohan] - I had discounted this case when looking at the patch,
since I assumed initialize() and the vertexStateUpdated notification execute on
the AsyncDispatcher thread - in which case once initialize starts - it will
complete, and populate it's maps correctly. Is that not the case ?
