The continuing saga of the CMYK Jpeg... I have inverted the image in Photoshop before adding it to the pdf with iText, and everything is fine. (except that it's a hassle to invert them first).

I created the image in Photoshop 5.5, so I've gone back and tried all sorts of variations on the jpeg saving options, but there doesn't seem to be a way of saving a cmyk jpeg from Photoshop that Acrobat can read. I see a big black box with the word "black" in gray. Gs only gives a black box. For your information I tried to insert the image using Acrobat 4.0 and it gave an error of unsupported file type. I suspect that something else is missing, like a calibrated colospace. Did you try to export the image to pdf directly from Photoshop?
