It's easy to create huge files with iText if you don't know what you're 
doing.
Go to http://www.manning.com/affiliate/idevaffiliate.php?id=223_212 and 
open chapter 2 (that's a free chapter). Go to page 43 and read the 
section about "Adding the same image more than once to the same document".
If that's your problem, you should redesign your application. You should 
take away the cause of your problem; you shouldn't try to fix something 
you've done wrong in the first place.
