Why not just spawn a call to wrt-installer? Duplicating something the system already does, could lead to a fragile design and there's significant risk-- You may not have access to all of the relevant data structures (both knowledge and execution privilege), there's always the possibility that a bug in your code could kill the system, and worst you potentially have to play catch-up if the install process changes.
