Dear Mark,
I checked manually which chunks did not apply from your i2c patch and
it seems I have all the relevant code applied...
But the driver behavior regarding remote lock-ups is exactly the same as
if the old driver was still active (I checked to see if the newi2c was
enabled by default, but it seems to be... is there a mechanism that may
revert to the old version of the i2c driver at runtime? remember, I
have a special model of the PVR 150 designed especially for us SECAM
land froggies)
No, it is either on or off. The i2c implementation isn't tuner specific
so it shouldn't matter.
For the moment I am using trusty old cron to reset the remote every 3
minutes with
$ ivtvctl --reset-ir
which does the trick "most" of the time, but is not very clean.
I would recommend that you try the lirc_pvr150 driver and see if that
helps. At the very least, it should be able to reset it when it fails.
If you add the disable_tx=1 module option it should be pretty easy to
set up.
Thanks,
Mark
