Since I'm now using Kubuntu 5.10 and ivtv-0.4.0 as well (with lirc 0.7.1),
I thought I'd give it another try and so far I haven't had any issues with
the remote. Previously I was using Kubuntu 5.04 and ivtv-0.3.6someletter
with lirc-0.7.1 and it would consistently stop responding to lirc after
20-30 minutes of recording. It's been in use for over a day and recorded
at least a couple hours over that time without an issue at this point. I
don't know if it was the newer version of ivtv or something newer from
dist-upgrading to Kubuntu 5.10 (probably the kernel I suppose), but I
don't seem to have the problem any more.

Thank you for mentioning this, otherwise I wouldn't have tried, thinking
that the issue was still there when it wasn't.

Thanks,
Bob C
