I get the same problem until I record something in MythTV after reboot
(or just watch live TV for a few seconds).

After that the closed captions are slightly ahead of the video but
generally OK.

This is with PVR-350 on FC4 and 2.6.14 kernel and 0.4.0 ivtv.
