    Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I have done many full power cycles and have
    tried several firmware versions, all with the same result. IVTV encode dies
    with the messages shown in my original email. Any other ideas? I could roll
    back to 0.2.0, but I'd rather stick with 0.4.3 and troubleshoot it in case
    it is a bug that will strike others.

    I'm game for whatever debugging anyone wants me to try.

The occasion for upgrading didn't also involve touching anything
inside the case, did it?  Maybe the card has vibrated ever so
slightly loose and needs to be reseated, or some corrosion has
afflicted it (which a reseat would probably fix).  Couldn't hurt,
and really quick to try... :)  Just remember to discharge yourself
first; wintertime means bad ESD in many climates...
