I've been having many of the same issues. With my issue, myth will record for
a period of time, then for no reason, drop the audio. I've tried re-installing
IVTV, ALSA, Myth, etc. as I did not have these problems with the 4.0 version of
IVTV on .18 of Myth. Once I loose audio, the failed API calls are soon to
come if I'm watching something. It seems to be a problem either with the PCI
bridge, or some conflict with the encoder / decoder (I have a PVR-350). And it
seems to only be an issue when I attempt to use the PVR-350 for decoding MPEG
streams. When I use mplayer or xine, even after the myth internal player has
issues, the card works fine.

I've had many a lock-ups as well, so it must be something that had root privs.

I'm currently attempting to upgrade the box to FC4, and we'll see how it goes.

At present, tho, it seems that even when I try to roll back to IVTV 2.x, I
have issues, so, maybe it's the card itself.

Sorry I couldn't help - but I am having similar issues and will report back on
any solution I come up with.

Subject: Re: [ivtv-devel] PVR250 intermittently failing on encode after upgrade
to ivtv 0.4.3

This looks like the firmware misbehaving.

Have you performed a full hardware power-cycle since the upgrade? If
not, I suggest you shutdown, pull the power, leave for a couple
minutes and then power back up again.

If that doesn't help, try switching the firmware back to the version
you were using with 0.2.0 and do another full power-cycle.

Cheers,
Wilf.
