Hello,

I am running Fedora 7 and ivtv from atrpms. I recently upgraded from
Fedora Core 6 which was running fine.

The kernel is 2.6.22.1-41.fc7 and ivtv is ivtv-1.0.1-133.fc7 /
ivtv-kmdl-2.6.22.1-41.fc7-1.0.1-133.fc7

If I start recording streams with ivtv ( and mythtv ) my raid card will
start to reset

ivtv1: All encoder MPEG stream buffers are full. Dropping data.
ivtv1: Cause: the application is not reading fast enough.
3w-9xxx: scsi0: WARNING: (0x06:0x000C): Character ioctl (0x108) timed
out, resetting card.
sd 0:0:0:0: WARNING: (0x06:0x002C): Command (0x2a) timed out, resetting
card.
3w-9xxx: scsi0: AEN: INFO (0x04:0x005E): Cache synchronization
completed:unit=0.

I have put substantial load on the card and can't make it reset unless I
use ivtv. I can just start two streams recording and I can cause the
raid card to reset within 2-3 minutes. I also verified the two cards
are not using the same interrupt.

The relevant section from my modprobe.conf is:

# Try to eliminate
# "application is not reading fast enough" messages
options ivtv enc_mpg_buffers=16 enc_vbi_buffers=4

It remember a problem in the past with ivtv where it help interrupts or
something too long. I was wondering if this was a similar problem.

I also switched back to 2.6.21 with
video4linux-ivtv-kmdl-2.6.21-1.3194.fc7-20070420-80.fc7.x86_64 and I am
not seeing the problem so far.

Does anyone have any ideas on this issue?

Michael
