Just a follow up on this issue.

Fedora just released the 2.6.22.4-65.fc7 kernel.  I noticed the updated 
kernel also had patches for my ethernet card.

IVTV has also bumped to 1.0.2 ( but changes are minor ).

Running the updated kernel and IVTV, my 3ware lockups appear to be 
gone.  I am not at all sure what caused the problem to go away but I am 
happy that it has.
