I'll just pick up an s-video splitter today at Radio Shack, they run
like 50 bucks or so if I recall correctly.
I'll use the bt878 for most of my purposes, and the pvr150 for the
encoding specifically...
Now that I think about it, there's probably some distinct advantages
to that sort of setup, like having dual tuner capability, etc.

For what it's worth, I managed to scrape up enough odds and ends out of
my audio/video drawer to make splitters for my composite video, and
left/right audio channels. I had to use a passive composite-to-svideo
adapter I picked up from Fry's for 8 bucks with my bt878 card.
I've got both the bt878 and pvr150 running side-by-side and there's no
obvious quality degredation, and no obvious sound degredation.
THis should work great...
