We now have a test version of the formatter that Mark described. It
will be standard in future releases of JabRef, but I've packaged it as
a plugin for now, so it's very easy to try it out already now. Start
JabRef, run Plugins -> Manage plugins, click the Download plugin
button and enter this address:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15909095/net.sf.jabref.export.layout.format.Authors-1.0.jar

After restarting JabRef the new formatter called "Authors" will be
available. Mark's description applied, and for fairly simple testing
you can go to Options -> Preferences -> Entry preview. There you can
put the Authors formatter into one of the preview layouts and use the
Test button to see the result immediately.

We would of course be very happy to get suggestions for improvements
or bug reports for the formatter.
