Well, I don't have a 18F board, and just have a 18F4520. Which I think is
not USB enabled... I need to order some new samples from Microchip. What
would be the ideal PIC for USB ? 18F4550 ?

Albert, could provide some links for the very (very) newbie I am ? (yeah, I
could google around, but if you, the USB lib writer, could share your
experience and searches, that would save precious time :)). Will you answer
all my silly questions when I connect the whole and nothing happens ?..

But I first need a USB PIC, and a board...
