Hello Seb, Thanks for this, looks very nice, I'm trying to run it under my vmwared windows. Since I'm a Linux user, I probably won't use such a package, but most of our users (jalv2 and/or jallib) are windows users, I'm sure this package will be of great value for them ! [just finished clicking yes, next, accept, and that's it ! this is very, very smooth, I even wonder if I should switch to windows :)]
Thanks for the compliments. 1) What would be the name for the Pack ? Currently I have named it as > JALPack. Should it be a pack at all is another question.I have doubts about > the name. As said, it should be obvious looking at the filename that it's > windows only. But "pack" is somewhat already used, in jallib-pack. On the > other side, this is a pack as in starterpack :) but for me it's more than a > pack... but I don't know how to name it ! golden pack ? Or maybe, since > jallib-pack already contains jalv2 compiler, we could be explicit and name > it "jallib-jaledit-pack-win32" ? > > "jallib-jaledit-pack-win32" is a bit of a long name, and I would like to include a simulator like PICShell and may be pogrammers in the pack, with the option to select during install. In that case the name might be even bigger. > 2) How do I go about displaying the license file. Licenses of jalv2 and > jallib should be displayed right ?License files should be included, and > accessible when installed. I've seen you display jallib license, does your > question is about also displaying jalv2 license ? And also JalEdit ? > Yes, displaying all files in one screen would make the license too big, having it on 3 wizard pages is irritating. > 3) Is there any pdf ready for jallib and jalv2 documentation ? > Having a single documentation page (so one PDF) is something I have to deal with, see issue 39 (http://code.google.com/p/jallib/issues/detail?id=39). I guess I have to allocate some time on this ! If that is made, it can be included in the distro with the ability to invoke the file on F1. > 4) Where and how do I uplad the script and installation program ?It will > probably go under SVN, "tools" directory. Where other packaging scripts > remain. For now, if it's more convenient, group's file section is also ok. > Doable, I'll also try to pull jallib and jalv2 from SVN for the setup script. > 5) what about the version numbering of Setup program ? Not sure to > understand. Do you wonder how this package version numbering will go through > time ? Same as jallib ? (so next one is 0.2.1 or 0.3.0 ?) > Yes that would be easy. Also, just to be sure, what would be the process when releasing ? I guess you first need a jallib-pack, this will be a two-step packaging, right ? Or will you pick files directly from SVN ? Its easier to do it with the jallib pack I don't know when we release the next jallib version, it's probably not so far away. But maybe you would want to release this new package, based on last release (0.2.0), and advertise on jallist ? I think I'll wait till the next version of jallib Sunish --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "jallib" group.
