Hiya! Boku wa Fred Kemp ! Lately, I have been seeing names (on Japanese flyers, ads, webpages , video games, etc.) in kanji. At first, I thought only Japanese names can be in kanji. Here is a list of names I have seen in kanji: Chun-Li Shun Di Wang Koesan Li Xiangfei Wang Jinrei Shenlong Shen Long Ling Xiaoyu Feng Wei Liu Kang Kung Lao Shang Tsung Pao Chin Gentsai Lee Bailong Lee Chaolan Wang Fu Before anyone asks, yes, those names are characters from video games. But I don't understand how one can figure out how to put Chinese names in kanji. I always thought that foreign names were in katakana, but as I have seen, that is not always the case. Plus, I have seen Korean names in kanji, for example: Baek Doo San Hwaorang Hwang Sungkyung Hong Yunsung Seung Kim Pyongyang (place name) Pusan (also a place name) I just need to know how does one understand how to write Chinese and Korean names in kanji. If you know how, please reply. Thanx Again! ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Make a clean sweep of pop-up ads. Yahoo! Companion Toolbar.
