Kanji is what the Japanese called chinese characters. Koreans calls
them Hanja. Each have their own way of pronouncing the chinese
characters, and that's how you can have "chinese" characters in both
Japanese and Korean names (and obviously Chinese). The chinese
characters themselves don't change, they're just pronounced
differently, that's all. The saying goes, "learn chinese, and make
friends all over the world." :)
