Hi Boon,

Just a quick question, who is the vendor of your JVM, is it Sun, Blackdown?

It could be that your JVM is erroring, and dying after a certain amount of
time. ( I know a version of Blackdown was like this ).

If in doubt try IBM's Linux JDK 1.1.8, it's fast, and very reliable.

You can get it from http://www.ibm.com/

>From what you have said, it definately sounds like the JVM.

Another thing you can check is that you magic key has been generated
correctly.

Look in /etc/httpd/conf/jserv/jserv.secret.key

It should look like this : ee0883b3916d3860a0ed54cdc0f6e903 -

It Should not have any readable words or text in it.

Check these and get back to us.

regards

Robert Keith

I have just examined the log files. Look ok -- nothing
abnormally in them. I can access

     http://www.menagerie.null/servlets/IsItWorking
and
     http://www.menagerie.null/jserv/

from a client. If it is a permission problem, where
else should I be looking?
