Hi folks,

Yeap, the problem appears to be with Blackdown's
JDK1.2.2RC3. I have replaced the JVM with Kaffe
GNU version from http://www.transvirtual.com and
the problem has gone away.

Robert, thanks for suggesting IBM's JVM, but I have
doubt about compatibility with my system which has
glibc2.1.2 installed. A look at the requirement for the
recently released IBM JDK1.1.8 says that "it works
on Linux distributions containing Linux kernel 2.2 and
GNU C runtime library 2.1. It has not been tested in
other distributions" -- so I have doubt about compatiblity
with my system. Blackdown's JDK1.2.2RC3 explicitly
mentions that it would not worked with any other version
except glibc2.1.2.

Thanks again,
.boon
