OK the hack now scares me!
Let's just return SimpleFSDir on all Windows? And, note this bug in the FSDir
& MMapDir javadocs.
Also: I think we should fix the open logic so that on an unknown platform (not
unix, not windows, not 64 bit), return SimpleFSDir?
