OK that makes sense. When you commit this, you can also just remove the test
from the back-compat branch...
The "hack" also saves transient disk space, on all systems, right? Just
because the file name link is deleted on Unix, the bytes are still consuming
disk space. So, Uwe in javadoc'ing Sun's bug, can you note that the bug
causes higher transient disk usage? Maybe we all should go vote for the bug...
but it seems our votes will be in the noise. I'll go add this bug to
