I don't know if anyone has answered your question yet - I finally
have some time to look at the alias questions.
For what you want, you need to disable back face culling.
Add the following to your program around line 73:
PolygonAttributes pa = new PolygonAttributes();
pa.setCullFace(pa.CULL_NONE);
app.setPolygonAttributes(pa);
