I have the following sugestions for final release 1.3.1 (ok, if you have time for it ;-) )
* A new extend Alpha basead upon J3DTimer instead System.currentTimeMillis(); Reason : System.currentTimeMillis() is a very bad timer for animations. I've tested a new version using J3DTimer and I like the results http://www.cpm2002.hpg.ig.com.br/alessandro/gearbox/gb.html . A normal Alpha has the same bad timer precision of System.currentTimeMillis(), i.e , around 50ms on Win98 and 10-15ms on Win2K. On other words, your animation seens running at 20FPS (50ms per step/"frame") even when you got 200FPS+ .
* A new version of WakeupOnElapsedTime, also based on the J3DTimer. Reason : same as above, just a better timer. I am unable to have WakeupOnElapsedTime with less than 50 ms in Win98, even when I set lower values. OR or a public interface of WakeupCriterion ...
I know there are some problems as J3DTimer beeing a util, and Alpha and WakeupCriterion belongs to J3D's core...
P.S.: I did not check if j3d.org already have this kind of utils avail ...
Thanks Alessandro
