Hello Dimitry,
I can't address the problem that you observe with memory leakage, if that is
what is really occuring, but I would strongly recommend that you invest in more
memory. I have a Dell 450MHz Pentium II running NT 4.0 SP5 and it was a dog
with the original 64M of RAM. NT takes up 40M or so from the get go, at least
the way mine is configured, so just running JBuilder2 would take it up to 80 or
so and the system spent all of its time swapping. I recently added another
128M and the difference is like night and day; it finally feels like a 450!
IMO, there is no way that 64M will be enough to run Java3d on a scene of any
complexity under NT.
You might also try the new reference driver from nVidia for your TNT, it's
Detonator v1.88. This driver is superior to the original Detonator and beats
out Diamonds Drivers for my Viper 550; typically the card manufacturer's
drivers beat out the reference driver, but they have some catching up to do
with this release from nVidia.
HTH,
-Gary
