Good news. I registered our company to Google Apps, added users and set up calendars. All works great, but there are still some things I have to figure out. If you guys don't mind, I'll write down my list, maybe someone can help me out.
- How to create a Calendar, that everybody has automatically in the Calendar webinterface? It seems like everybody has to subscribe to it. - How to share a calender and give everybody write permission , but deny him to change or delete entries made by other users? - How to deactivate E-Mail? As I wrote, we don't want to use Google Apps for emailing (right now). Therefor, I left the E-Mail app deactivated, as I can see in the dashboard. But users see an E-Mail link on there google apps startpage and can use it to send mails (but not receive, because our DNS records does not point to google) Tim On 26 Jan., 22:28, Tim Büthe <timbue...@googlemail.com> wrote: > On 26 Jan., 16:22, "phil.swen...@gmail.com" <phil.swen...@gmail.com> > wrote: > > > zimbra isn't free, but it looks like a great solution. > > I thought there is this thing called "Open Source Edition" to install > "on-site" how they call it:http://www.zimbra.com/community/downloads.html > And I also think it's free and for free... am I wrong? > > > Seems odd that people would be paranoid about a calendaring app in the > > cloud.
