Consider that most browsers are moving towards a automatic background
upgrade scenario. Chrome has used this to achieve > 90% movement of
its users to newer versions of its browser. FireFox already has a
pretty good user population that upgrades manually, ditto for Safari.
However given Chrome's example the others will soon follow that path
(they already are in terms of UI simplification among other things).
So soon the only hold-up on making use of newer features will be the
browser vendors themselves thanks to browsers auto updating!

[ IE is an unknown, who knows what dumbness Microsoft will do, having
to tie themselves into the 'Windows Update' scheme probably for
'political' reasons, unsurprisingly they will probably continue to be
the anchor around our necks. ]
